IEEE PIMRC is one of the flagship conferences of IEEE Communications Society with a special focus on the cutting-edge wireless technology research and innovations. Hosted by Professor Arslan Huseyin and his team in Istanbul, the IEEE PIMRC 2025 edition was composed of high quality keynotes, technical sessions, panels, workshops and tutorials.

Through our attendance, we were able to present the results of our YO-RAN project and the ORAN-Twin projects, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and the CHEDDAR Hub, respectively.

Our contributions included:

Ahmed Al-Tahmeesschi, Yi Chu et al. presented a testbed-based energy consumption analysis for both O-RAN splits 8 and 7.2 — essential for enhancing the accuracy of O-RAN Digital Twins.

Mostafa Rahmani et al. explored fronthaul compression techniques to optimize performance in O-RAN Decentralized Distributed MIMO systems.
